The Blessing of Waiting on God

The Blessing of Waiting on God

In fervently seeking God’s will for our lives, there are moments when we clearly hear God’s voice. And there are moments when we do not wait around to let Him finish His sentence. We may hear what God is saying, but we do not listen to every part of His direction for us. Following God completely means there must be a total commitment to obedience—no matter how long it takes.

Hailed as a hero in the realm of faith, Abraham had his moments of weakness, which proved to be costly. Even though he heard God’s promise that his offspring would be innumerable, Abraham struggled to wait, mistakenly supposing that maybe God meant his offspring would come through his maidservant Hagar and thus bringing strife to his household.

Still, God fulfilled His promise to Abraham: Sarah had a child. Even when we make mistakes, God sticks by His Word—He never fails us. However, we must be ever diligent to prove faithful to what God calls us to do in our lives. Our impatience in God usually delays the timing of His best for our lives. God does not choose to make us wait because He enjoys making us suffer; we wait because His timing brings blessing to us and glory to His name and transforms us into His likeness if we set our hearts on Him.

Waiting on God’s best for our lives proves we believe Him. It demonstrates our faith in who He is and what He says about our lives. Learning to wait on His perfect timing results in greater joy when His promises are fully realized in our lives. I pray for someone reading this message as you wait patiently upon the Lord may the Lord fulfilled your purpose in the name of Jesus Christ (Amen)

Yahweh: The Great I AM

Yahweh: The Great I AM

Read Exodus 3:1-15.

When God appeared to Moses in the burning bush and told him He was sending him back to Egypt to deliver His people, Moses was afraid and tried everything to get out of the assignment. The job seemed impossible to him, and he had no reason to think the Israelites would accept him as their deliverer. But Moses wouldn’t be going to Egypt on his own; God promised to remain with him every step of the way. God told the quaking shepherd, “This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you'” (Exodus 3:14).

God is Yahweh, the great I am. He is the self-existent God, the God who is always there—for that is what Yahweh means. You see, God didn’t promise Moses that the road out of Egypt would be an easy one. In fact, He told him it would be just the opposite: that Pharaoh’s heart would be hard, that he would be unwilling to release the Israelites from their bondage until God’s might had been fully displayed (v. 19-20). But all the suffering that God foretold to Moses paled in comparison to His enduring promise: “I will be with you” (v. 12).

Someone reading this message, no matter what you may be going through, God is with you. He is Yahweh, the God who is always there. He will show up in the midst of your battle in the name of Jesus Christ (Amen)

Have a blissful productive new week in the name of Jesus Christ (Amen)

Yahweh Tsidkenu: God Our Righteousness

Yahweh Tsidkenu: God Our Righteousness

Read Jeremiah 23:5-8.

In Jeremiah’s day, righteousness had fallen by the wayside. The leaders of Judah were corrupt. The people sinned against God with reckless abandon. Even the priests had turned away from the Lord. Judgment was on its way. Before long, the people would be taken into exile, the city of Jerusalem would be conquered, and the temple of God would be reduced to rubble. But in this season of steep decline, Jeremiah preached the Truth and told the people that, despite their wickedness, God would bring them back to the Promised Land and give them a new King. He would be the Messiah and would be called “The LORD Our Righteous Savior” (Jeremiah 23:6).

Our day isn’t all that different from Jeremiah’s. Righteousness seems just as unpopular. The troubling messages coming from the media and celebrity culture leave many people unable to discern between right and wrong. But those of us who know Jesus never have to wonder; all we have to do is look to Him. Everything He does is righteous and good. In fact, He is perfect righteousness; He is Yahweh Tsidkenu, our righteousness. Were we to spend a million lifetimes trying to do good works, it would never be enough to earn us the right to stand before God. But Jesus gives us His righteousness. It’s ours, completely free, without striving or struggling. All we have to do is surrender our filthy rags to Him, and He will clothe us in radiant white.  I pray for someone reading this message may the Lord empower you to live a life style worth emulate to the body of Christ.

Have a blissful productive new month in the name of Jesus Christ (Amen)
